Email Problem

I receive the error below, when trying to send a test email to myself, after configuring the settings. I'm behind a Verizon Fios ActionTec router and connecting from the outside on port 8080 (which is forwarded thru the router. I do not have this problem with my Mac Book Pro from the outside with a Verizon USB Modem, seems like it could be a router setting not sure - and not a network guru.
Thanks in advance to anyone whom may offer some guidance.

Have you tried port 587?
