It seems to be necessary some configurations in Mango in order to get it running under security manager policy.

Does anyone know anything about that?

Just grant write access to dir ${catalina.base}/logs/.

It is not possible for me to grant write access to dir ${catalina.base}/logs/ due our server policy.

Is there any other solution?
How can I change the log directory to the webapps dir?

I realized that Mango may not run under security policy even granting write access to Tomcat log directory.

Does anyone know why?

Hi, I tried it once, it is awful slow...

you have to grant nearly everything, look at the exceptions

Hi apl, thank for reply.

Actually I am not an expert and even looking at the exceptions I could not solve it. As I recall it was about Log manager and Log handler permissions.

Could you please tell me if I can grant this permissions without changing any files on tomcat dir? I have access to the webapps dir only.

many thanks again.

Hi,

this is tomcat specific, so you may get better help at the tomcat website/forums... or even books are sold ;-)

Maybe you ask the people that forced you to run tomcat with policies to solve your problems ;-)

If you have your own instance (installation) of tomcat you can change the log dir in the configs - for this see my last post.
