Congratulations on launching an Open Source M2M middle ware initiative. Some Suggestions
1> Woudl be great if you have a live demo to look at the end product.
2> A write up on how to join the community and contribute to this..

PS,
Re 1> In fact, there is an online demo. You can access it at http://mango.serotoninsoftware.com/test, but you need a username/password to log in. Please feel free to use the contact form to request one.
Re 2> There are currently no formal procedures. Anyone can download the software and source, join the forums, or contact us for anything else. Is there anything in particular you were looking for?

Hi. Your software looks nice.
And I am especially happy that it can run as WAR file in a Servlet container.
(I intend to try it with Jetty)
I am planning a renovation of a house and was hoping to do some home-automation. I want to evaluate Mango for this.
Perhaps you have some example projects that you could post that show Mango interacting with different kinds of sensors, hardware and controllers.
For that matter a list of hardware products known to work (well) with Mango would be helpful. With the disclaimer that you don't endorse any particular hardware vendor.

Mango does not yet have a "project" concept (good idea though), so there are no additional materials to post.
Regarding hardware products, your best bet for now is to determine the communication protocols that you require (i.e. Modbus, BACNet, etc), and ensure that Mango supports them, or will support them soon. (Several are planned to be released soon.)
Also, Serotonin is in discussions with a number of hardware vendors to certify their products for use with Mango. Details will be posted on the web site as they become available.

I am not sure if the Contact Us form on the mango website works as I don't get a confirmation and have not heard from Serotonin. I am interested in the online demo and would like a username+password for it
Thanks

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the heads up. We recently upgraded the version of DWR the system uses, causing a conflict on that page with the My Mango portlet. It should be fixed now.

Sorry, we don't make the test instance available. It is for internal use only.
