Hi all!
Now the system works and measurements too. Thank you for your good advices!

It seems to be very fine program, when I learn to use all fine properties. In this moment measuring 16 pieces DS18S20 of sensors. In some reasons it couldn’t find my energy consumption measuring. I have done it with Hobby boards Dual counter. It use DS2423 chip. Should Mango support that chip?

I have one more problem with e-mail sending. I think that I put all e-mail settings right, but it gives me error:

Failed to send email titled "Mango test email" to "firstname.secondname@operator.xx". Message: "Mail server connection failed; nested exception is javax.mail.MessagingException: Exception reading response; nested exception is: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset"

What you think, is there something wrong with Ubuntu or what?

In the future I have thinking to add into the system Hobby boards 8 Channel I/O which have been made by DS2408 chip. What do you think, does Mango have support for that?

Hi Antsu,

It's not so much "sensors" that are supported by Mango as the attributes of sensors that are supported. In general, Mango will read from temperature, humidity, AD voltage, latch, and wiper containers. (These attribute names come from the OneWire Java API. Check the DS documentation for more details on them.) Couplers will not show up in a device list since they are just dividers in the network path.

Mike had asked about the DS2406, which appears to be a switch container, which has latches, but also level and activity sensing. These two attributes are not supported because there is no lab equipment here to test with.

I haven't looked up your other devices, i.e. the DS18S20 and DS2423, but from the API the other unsupported attributes include password, mission, clock, and potentiometer. Again, there is no equipment here to test with.

Oh, regarding your mail issues, there are a number of reasons why your connection may get reset, including incorrect host, protocol, or authorization. You'll need to check your settings again, but also make sure the MTA you're trying to connect to is willing forward your emails.

I am also interested in the DS2408 (x8 addressable switch) chip but I suspect it will have the same problem I am having with the DS2406 (dual addressable switch). I have volunteered to send a DS2406 to Matthew to further the cause if he is interested. Awaiting response.

As long as you're not expecting any specific delivery time, sure, send it over.

Hi!

Before I used Logtemp program http://www.mrsoft.fi/ with same sensors and same network and all sensors seem to be Okay. Now temperature measurements seems to be working fine (DS18S20), but I can't see the energy consumption (DS2423).

I have checked up 1-Wire API for Java Software Development Kit and there were a list http://www.maxim-ic.com/products/ibutton/software/1wire/1wire_api.cfm where both DS2423 and DS2408 were mentioned.

Here some additional information about DS2423 and DS2408 chips.

If it so that Mango don't support these chips, could it be possible to have that support? Especially counter DS2423 support will be nice to have working with my present system.

I could have all status information by calculate via energy consumption, for me that DS2408 isn't so relevant but it would be nice to have too...
