I use the same adapter and I had similar problems (mango 1.4.2?) on linux - after recompiling mango the problem vanished mysterious - I don't know why...

Currently I tested it with mango 1.6.4 on winXP - it runs out of the box.

So my gues is it cant find the COM-Port.
The COM-Port driver is a FTDI 2.4.16.0 (in the Device-manager - (System->Hardware->COM-Ports or similar).

Does the OneWireViewer.exe (it is a Javaprogram with an exe-wrapper) show the adapter an the devices?

cheers arne
deleted everything and then reloaded all drivers and software it managed to work for a while then it comes up with this
Urgent14:00:37: com.dalsemi.onewire.adapter.OneWireIOException: Error communicating with adapter
Urgent14:00:19: com.dalsemi.onewire.OneWireException: Port found "COM4" but Adapter "DS9097U" not detected
shut down pc rebooted and the started again run scan port and kept pressing it kept coming up with COM4" but Adapter "DS9097U" not detected or Error communicating with adapter and then sudenley it locks on to the 1-wire network and your off until you change something or about ten minutes
it is polling the linkusb because the red led turns on and off
any advice would be appreciated looks like its the drivers i think i will give it 1 last go
cheers

ps works ok with 1-wire viewer and logtemp might not be the drivers

linkusb 5v yes = linkusb2

when i use linkusb 2 this will not connect to mango it comes up with whats happened above this is in parasite power or 5v+ this is connected to a ds18b20
i have deleted all drivers and com ports and reloaded everything including software this will connect to log temp or onewirer viewer no problems what so ever but will not connect properley to mango as above

when i use linkusb 1 delete all files folders and reload everything this will connect to mango no problems what so ever it will also connect to logtemp and onewire viewer but it is parasite power

i have deleted comport and then plugged the linkusb then deleted again and plugged the otherone in

only linkusb 1 will work

Onewire network issues

Can you get it to work with LogTemp ? and then test for a few days, the log file that it produces can be of some help ?

I have a network thats there sometimes and then not and sometimes only part of it. I've just bought a HobbyBoards Hub to try to resolve the issue.

Have you read this http://www.maxim-ic.com/appnotes.cfm/an_pk/148 ?
It may help

Cheers

Also have a look at these threads. USB 1 wire was not supported in the past
